A week from today I'm leaving to go on vacation! I'm really excited, but I need your help finding books to read. I want something like a cute light hearted romance book (like Drive Me Crazy by Erin Downing) or a funny one that would make me randomly burst out laughing causing everyone in the room to give we weird looks (like Pants on Fire by Meg Cabot). If you have any suggestions, let me know or if you have a book that you absolutely love that doesn't fall under those categories, let me know because there's still the rest of the summer!
Go HERE to find out all of the contests and events going on during my 2-month long Birthday Bash!

I love all books by Sarah Dessen. They are really light, summer type books. Going Too Far by Jennifer Echols made me crack up a ton of times..and lots of romance in there too. :) hmm... that's all I can think of right now.
Actually since you mentioned Drive Me Crazy I'm going to look that one up for myself lol :) I'm looking for a few light reads.
Have fun on your trip!!! :)
Try Bad Kitty by Michele Jaffe if you haven't read it yet - I had to shut myself in my room to read it because my mom was getting fed up with my random laughter. Also Suite Scarlett by Maureen Johnson (excellent book) and Peace, Love, and Baby Ducks by Lauren Myracle.
You should also at some point read Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl if you haven't already. It doesn't fit your "summer romance/comedy" category but it's still excellent.
I loved Pants on Fire! I don't know whether or not you've read Meg Cabot's other books (you probably have), but, if you haven't, you should definitely read those, they're amazing. Also, Forgive My Fins by Tera Lynn Childs is a bubbly, romantic fantasy novel that centers on a mermaid princess. Girl at Sea by Maureen Johnson falls into that category as well, minus the mermaids. For funny novels, any of E. Lockhart's books will do (note: The Boyfriend List and the rest of the series, plus Dramarama). Hope that helps!
A book I read on the beach last year was Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen! I really loved it! Another good one is North of Beautiful by Justina Chen Headley.
Also, try Sloppy First by Megan McCafferty! I really love her whole series! have fun on vacation!
My go to rec whenever anyone asks is Love, Rosie by Cecilia Ahern. It's technically a YA book, but has a lot of crossover appeal to YA readers (like me!). It's just a great read, and although a larger book, one I've read many times.
Also, The Year of Secreat Assignments by Jaclyn Moriarty is a light-ish and funny read.
Some more random titles: A Match Made In High Schhol by Kristen Walker, The Boyfriend List by E. Lockhart, Ready or Not by Meg Cabot, and Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard.
Have fun, and happy reading!
I'll second Jessica, anything by Sarah Dessen.
Maybe The Mediator series, since you like Meg Cabot so much.
Anything by Jennifer Echols, Sarah Dessen, and definetely Simone Elkeles are great light books. Also, an adult vampire series thta's HIGH-larious is Undead and Unwed by MaryJanice Davidson.
Amy and Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson! It's such a summer beach read, I recommend it.
If you're looking for a book that doesn't fall under any of those categories try No Time For Goodbye by Linwood Barclay. It's one of those books you can't put down until you finish it. it's so full of twists and surprises!
I love reading romance novels in the summer! Hayley Abbott has a whole collection of teen romance novels that are light and fun to read! I also recommend Meg Cabot books! Happy Reading
Hummm...I would recommend you 'Perfect chemistry' but you've already read it hahah so... maybe something of Simone Elkles or Cecilia Aeren (specially 'Where the rainbows end'). They're quite good :D
I read One Way Street by Lauren Barnholdt on a road trip and found it extremely light-hearted, funny, cute, and romantic. You might want to try it!
Tell me if it helps :)
Hmm, my suggestions for a good beach read would probably have to be The Mediator Series by Meg Cabot and This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen. The Mediator series is a good mix of fun and funny, with some romance and some paranormal action scenes mixed in. This Lullaby was hilarious, while still having some serious issues at its heart. Plus, if I remember correctly, it's set during the summer =) I hope you have fun at the beach!!
Neither of those categories, but I highly recommend The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare, The Host by Stephenie Meyer and Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson :)
Just some of my favorites.
I vote Sarah Dessen, too! Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta is a "heavier" read, but it's absolutely fantastic.
Like people are saying; everything by Meg Cabot and Jennifer Echols are great reads!
Another fun read is She's so money by Cherry Cheva - love that one! I also recommend Hearts at stake by Alyxandra Harvey :)
Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging is definitely in the "laugh out loud and people stare" category. Enjoy!
Meyer delivers another irresistible combination of romance and suspense with a supernatural twist. Passionate, riveting, and deeply moving, this vampire love saga is well on its way to literary immortality.
Ooh!
My list of super awesome, "lighter" reads:
-Get Well Soon by Julie Halpern (Holy Hallelujah, you have no clue how funny this is if you haven't already read it! Seriously funny shit! Plus, the writing is lovely.)
-Confessions of a Triple Shot Betty (A little perverted, but so SO sweet and utterly hilarious!)
-Audrey, Wait! by Robin Benway (Also laugh-out-loud funny. Plus, there are so many "AWWW!" moments!)
Hope you enjoy these titles! I throughly enjoyed them!
Love, Hannah
I am new to your blog so I don't know all of your reading history. Some of my faves are the dark divine, shiver, wings and the hourglass door.
Have a great vacation.
If you're still looking for suggestions: the Princes Diaries series by Meg Cabot (although it's so popular that you might have read it already), Teen Idol and How to be Popular by Meg Cabot, Fairy Tale by Cyn Balog.
